The Gracie Barra BJJ Martial Arts Program Structure defines three main stages of development for students:

GB¹ Program – Jiu-Jitsu - Beginners & Self defence,

GB² Program – Jiu-Jitsu - Advanced Sports Jiu Jitsu

GB³ Program – Expert Jiu-Jitsu. These stages indicate different maturity levels and students upgrade from one to the other in their own natural progression.

GB¹ - Beginners

Learn Essential Fighting Techniques with the GB¹ Program

The GB¹ Program is designed to teach individuals like you the fundamental principles of effective fighting. By intelligently combining core Jiu-Jitsu moves, this program condenses a wide range of techniques into a structured format that maximizes learning and ensures safety. You will learn a martial art that teaches you self defence and sports jiu jitus.

. At the end of this stage of training, you will:

 - Have a very good understanding of BJJ and the Gracie Barra Martial Arts self-defence system
 - Enjoy significant gains in your overall fitness level
 - Expect considerable weight loss and increase in flexibility
 - Improve your sleep, energy and concentration
 - Improve your self-confidence


 


GB² - Advanced
While the GB¹ Program focuses on the building blocks and basic principles of BJJ, the GB² Program is built on high-level techniques and drills that start shaping the students game flow through the development of reflexes, speed and reaction time as well as transitions between one technique and another. You will find the GB² Classes perfect for taking your Jiu-Jitsu to the next level. 

GB² Program classes are based on a defined class structure and curriculum that take a broad and open-minded approach, incorporating techniques from different grappling styles like wrestling, judo, sambo, and most importantly, Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu.

At this stage of training you will start:

- Shaping your Jiu-Jitsu game flow by working with the instructor on your favourite moves
- Developing transitions between Jiu-Jitsu techniques
- Experiencing further improvements in overall fitness level
- Seeing a massive change in your body due to muscle tone building
- Seeing yourself stronger and with better overall energy
- Possibly stepping up to participate in Jiu-Jitsu competitions

GB³ - Black Belt Program
The Gracie Barra Black Belt Program is the last stage in GB’s adult program structure. While it does represent the student’s arrival at the ultimate level of training in our school, it also represents a new beginning.

The goal of this program is to further develop the student’s Jiu-Jitsu game flow by exposing him or her to cutting edge Jiu-Jitsu techniques and their variations. The program’s dynamic curriculum and classes, followed by hour-long live training sessions, build a challenging yet safe environment for students to progress from their blue to black belts.

It is in the GB³ Program that most students truly grasp what they’ve been told since being White Belts: Jiu-Jitsu is an endless journey of daily accomplishments that always leads to a new challenge. The same old arm-bars, triangle chokes, fireman carries, kimuras, sweeps, guard passes and single leg take downs gain new meaning as their Jiu-Jitsu game flow is defined.

Gracie Barra students enrolled in the Black Belt Program are role models at our schools. The responsibility of sharing GB techniques and training philosophy with newer students is taken seriously. They play a key role in maintaining a safe, friendly and progress-oriented environment at our school.

Welcome to Your First Class at Gracie Barra Hunter Valley

To ensure you get the most out of your experience, we suggest arriving 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Our classes begin promptly, so be sure to be on time. When lining up for training, you'll notice that our instructors follow a precise plan for each class. This is standard practice, and you can expect a similar routine for each session. However, the techniques taught will vary, so you'll always be learning something new! Over the course of the GB¹ Program, you will learn more than 100 technique combinations in just four months. It's going to be an incredible journey, and you'll have the support of your peers every step of the way. By the end of each class, you'll feel both physically exhausted and mentally exhilarated. Take care not to overexert yourself, though – we want to see you back the next day! Remember, you're free to train as much as you like.
