NO GI CLASSES

★ Experience Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Like Never Before!

Our classes offer a unique twist by eliminating the Gi (kimono) and instead, using only official Gracie Barra Shorts and Rash Tops. If you're enrolled in the GB2 & GB3 program, you're eligible to attend our No Gi Classes.

Many GB athletes from schools all over the world are currently getting ready for the No-Gi Worlds. No-gi submission grappling is a popular competition format that's gaining worldwide recognition. Although gi and no-gi share most of the principles of jiu-jitsu, there are some key differences (especially in grips!). For those seeking a comprehensive jiu-jitsu training, it's important to invest some time in practicing no-gi specific techniques in addition to regular gi classes.

🔺Adapting to Training without Traditional Jiu-Jitsu Grips

With the absence of traditional kimono grips such as collar, sleeves, and pant legs, students are required to learn new techniques. Even the highly-praised spider guard won't be as effective without the sleeves to hold onto. However, there is a solution. By incorporating non-kimono grips like under and over hooks, collar ties, and wrist controls, practitioners can gain a new perspective on how to control their opponents. This will allow for a better understanding of the “handles” on the human body and improve overall technique.

Our No Gi classes are available for our advanced students only. No Gi is fast-paced, cardio heavy, and requires a lot of flow and precise technique. It can be very dynamic and less of the slow grind that grappling in the Gi can often involve. They can be quite different but both a lot of fun!
